Abstract: In today’s era of prolific open-access publishing, profound questions are frequently overlooked, raising concerns about the future of mathematics as we have known it for centuries. It appears that this trend is indeed taking hold. It is crucial to remember that mathematics revolves around the interplay of questions and answers, making the distinction between profound and superficial inquiries all the more important. While many mathematicians argue that the difficulty of answering a question enhances its interest, there exists another dimension that can render a question profound, irrespective of its ease of solution.

During this talk, we will examine two specific instances: the Caristi’s fixed point theorem and the advancements made in the field of fixed point theory within CAT(0) spaces.
Key Words: Caristi, CAT(0) spaces, Ekeland variational principle, Fixed point.
