Title: Hopf Algebras and Hopf Categories
Abstract :
Barry Mitchell considered “rings with several objects” (Advances in Mathematics, 1972). In a parallel manner we consider Hopf algebras with several objects, namely Hopf categories, which are always considered over a group instead of a set of objects. We will define Hopf structures and consider the Pierce decomposition of a Hopf algebra. The free case corresponds to Hopf quivers considered previously with Marc Rosso (J. of Algebra, 2002). This work’s progress is towards the existence of a fundamental group of a Hopf category. For that purpose we will recall the Galois coverings of linear categories, and possible extensions to Hopf categories. This is joint work with Andrea Solotar (Buenos Aires).
