Calculus World Cup: Results
A team of Undergraduate Program in Mathematics students (Muhammad Al Kahfi, Yusuf Hafidh, and Hendry) was ranked third in the final round of Calculus World Cup (CWC) held on April 8, 2016 in National Taiwan University. The CWC was hosted by National Taiwan University and one of the most renowned Taiwanese startups BoniO Inc.
The competition kicked off in February 2016 and had over 2,000 participants from 45 different countries and 300 universities around the globe. The Mathematics ITB’s team was also ranked third during the online preliminary round. For the final held in Taipei, twelve teams from five different countries (Taiwan, China, Russia, Ukraine and Indonesia) competed in a competition that was viewed live by over 500,000 passionate mathematicians, online gamers and supporters.
After four hours of suspenseful and intense battling on PaGamO’s online map, National Taiwan University’s team “Calculus F” won the title to be the world’s first Calculus World Champion. The team not only took home USD 10,000 in cash, but was also awarded a free license for PaGamO for their entire campus. In second and third place followed the teams “All Correct” from Xiamen University, China and “ITB Indonesia”, the only finalist from South East Asia.
